Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Madrid Aous al-Aoud met here today, Thursday, with the Director of Morocco, Mediterranean and Middle East Directorate at the Spanish Foreign Ministry Alberto Othellay.
The latest developments in the Yemeni national arena was key point of the conversations.
Al-Aoud detailed the Spanish official on the Yemeni government's efforts to end the war and establish peace, blaming Iran-allied Houthi militias for prolonging the conflict and worsening the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
He explained the government's keenness to maintain the UN-brokered truce though Houthi militias have failed to fulfill its obligations under the truce agreement including lifting Taiz besiege, military escalation in different flashpoints.
The Spanish official stated that his country is keen boost bilateral relations with Yemen.
He confirmed Spain's support for Yemen's security, stability, unity and legitimate government. He also noted that it is important for the truce to continue, affirming his government's support for the efforts of the UN's envoy in this regard.
