Army experts extract 30 Houthi-laid landmines in north Yemen

Yemen army experts extracted over the past two days 30 landmines laid by the Houthi rebel militia in north Yemen, a military source said on Monday.

"The landmines of different sizes and designed for different targets were found planted in public roads and private farms in Bani al-Haddah of Hajjah governorate," said the source.

"The military's team of engineers are in the process of cleaning up the liberated territories from Houthi-laid landmines which threaten people's lives … and prevent the return of displaced people back home."

A Saudi mine-cleanup program, Masam, operating in different parts of Yemen for two years removed alone 169434 landmines and UXOs by Sunday 14th June.
