Deputy Governor of Shabwa Abdulqawi Lamrouq signed Monday a Memo of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Relations Officer of Nahdha Makers Amil Othman a memo of understanding for supporting livelihoods project for 800 farmers from Baihan District, Shabwa Province.
The project is financed by international organization YHF.
Lamrouq stressed the significance of the project to targeted farmers, confirming their need for such interventions, which will help encourage farmers on expanding agricultural activities and increasing production.
He hoped expansion of the organization's activities in the province to cover other valleys and areas.
He explained challenges facing the agricultural sector in the province and needs for financing to include the majority of famers.
For his part, Othman made it clear that the memo stipulates on distributing simple cash transfers, distributing agricultural tools and organizing awareness sessions on agricultural production.
