The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Najeeb al-Awj discussed with the Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkina number of issues related bilateral Russo-Yemen cooperation and means of enhancing and developing it.
Al-Awj stressed Yemen's desire to strengthen in the economic field, and called on Russian companies to contribute to reconstruction and economic recovery, as well as to invest in the fields of oil, gas, telecommunications, agricultural and fisheries in Yemen.
He also stressed the importance of revitalizingthe Russian-Yemeni Committee for Economic Cooperation to work on developing relations in various economic, trade and investment fields. The two sides also agreed on the need to exchange visits in this regard in the near future.
