Yemen's Ambassador to Baghdad meets with Speaker of Iraqi Parliament

Ambassador of Yemen to Baghdad al-KhaderMurmash met on Thursday with Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Mohammed al-Halbosi.

Murmash briefed al-Halbosi on the latest developments in Yemen, mainly efforts aiming to implement Stockholm Agreement about Hodeidah.

The convening of Yemeni Parliament's extraordinary session recently in Sayoon city of Hadramout was a key point of the discussions.

The Ambassador stated that the Yemeni government is very interested in achieving peace that is based on the three terms of references including GCC's Initiative, it executive mechanism, outcomes of National Dialogue and UNSCR resolution 2216.

The Speaker of Iraqi Parliament stated that Iraq is supporting peace in Yemen that is based on the three terms of reference.

He also asked the Ambassador to convey his congratulations to the Speaker of Parliament Sultan al-Barakani on his election as Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament.
