Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr said that the project gas-fuelled power plants in Yemen was the idea of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in 2009.
Addressing a ceremony held by PetroMsila oil company to mark his inauguration a 75 Mega Watt power plant in Block 10 oil in Sayoon city of Hadhramout, bin-Daghr said that when Hadi, in 2009, was still a vice president and touring oil blocks in Hadhramout province, he came up with the idea of using residual gas to generate power for the country.
By this idea, bin-Daghr said, Hadi wanted to cut excessive spending on power.
"The inauguration of this large service project will supply a stable current to all the districts of Wadi and desert Hadramout who had been suffering frequent outages," he said.
