The U.S. Embassy in Yemen has stated that the inspection of any vessel by the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism in Yemen (UNVIM) does not mean that it is safe from U.S. sanctions, especially those ships, entities and individuals providing material support to the Houthis.

Yemen partakes in conference on transport, telecommunications

Yemen has participated in the tenth meeting of the Standing Group of Economic and Commercial Cooperation's(COMCEC) Transport and Telecommunication Group held at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Ankara.

General Director of al-Wadi'a Outlet Mutlaq al-Sai'ari headed Yemen's delegation in the meeting.

Under the motto of "Improving Transport Routes for Member Countries," the meeting tackled effects of these routes on mutual tradebetween these countries and the world and its significant importance in reviving economy and development.

One of the participating committees discussed means of transport in Islamic countries through collecting data and analyzing them in six points; cultural, political, economic, social, technical and security and safety.

Many countries and concerned organizations participated in the meetings and urged on changing highways linking countries into approved transport routes.
