The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Minister of Water and Enviroment Al-EzziShoreim inaugurated the office of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects (GARWSP) in Dar Saad district in Aden on Thursday.
"Starting work formally in GARWSP's office is a catalyst to get the rural water projects back in operation across the country, the government-held and rebel-held parts alike," said Shoreim in a keynote speech at the inauguration event.
"In the period to come, new premises will be made available for the General Authority for Water Resources, the Environmental Protection Authority and the Local Water Corporation," he said.
The General Manager of GARWSP Anwar al-Marfadi gave the audience an overview on the tasks GARWSP is undertaking in respect of water, sanitation and emergency projects in cooperation with the Oxfam and the UNICEF.
