Yemen, Bahrain Discuss Regional Security

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi met in New York with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif al-Zayyani.

He discussed with him bilateral relations, developments in Yemen and the region and regional security challenges.

Al-Alimi stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between Yemen and Bahrain, praised Bahrain’s continued support for Yemen, and reaffirmed Yemen’s solidarity with Bahrain and the Gulf states in confronting security threats.

He also reviewed developments in Yemen and the risks posed by the Iran-backed Houthi escalation to the security of the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb and international maritime navigation.

Al-Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening relations and coordination with Yemen and emphasized the importance of joint Arab efforts to promote regional security and stability.
