Arab League Council Adopts Draft Resolution Supports Yemen's Sovereignty, Condemn Iranian Violations
[06/09/2026 06:11]

CAIRO - SABA
The preparatory meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates adopted a draft resolution supporting the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen and condemning Iranian violations targeting its sovereignty and the integrity of its airspace, affirming full solidarity with the Republic of Yemen and supporting its sovereignty, independence, and territorial unity.

The resolution emphasized rejecting practices that violate international law and the principles of good neighborliness, calling on the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately stop any activities or measures that violate Yemen's sovereignty or affect the integrity of its airspace, and to adhere to the provisions of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The resolution stressed Yemen’s inherent right to fully and exclusively exercise sovereignty over its territory, territorial waters and airspace, and to take all lawful measures necessary to protect this sovereignty according to international law.

The resolution called on the international community, especially the Security Council, the United Nations and relevant international and regional organizations, to bear responsibility and take necessary measures to ensure respect for the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, prevent the recurrence of these violations, and hold those responsible accountable.

The resolution also called on all countries and regional and international organizations not to deal with any flights, air operations, or arrangements related to the Republic of Yemen outside the framework of coordination and explicit approval from the legitimate Yemeni government, and in accordance with international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
