Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Discusses Support for National Women’s Strategy with UN Envoy’s Office

Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Dr Ahd Mohammed Salem Ja’sous discussed on Sunday with officials from the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen ways to enhance women’s participation across various sectors and support the Comprehensive National Strategy for Women for 2026–2030.

The meeting, attended by the Special Envoy’s Economic Adviser Dirk Jan Oeverzicht and Head of Office Brett Scott, addressed key challenges facing Yemeni women and a roadmap for their integration into productive sectors, including agriculture, fisheries, handicrafts and small enterprises.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of establishing a Women’s Development Fund, an information centre and specialised systems for women’s affairs.

Dr Ja’sous affirmed the government’s commitment to empowering women economically, socially and politically
