The Minister of Culture and Tourism Eng. Motea Damaj and the Chairwoman of the Jordanian National Heritage Fund, Chairwoman of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) - Jordan and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage, Princess Dana Firas and the Representative of the American Foundation Zaydon Zayed initiated today, Saturday, in Amman, an international workshop on combating the illicit trafficking of Yemeni cultural property.

Health Ministry Official Discusses Health Response with UNFPA, Yamaan Foundation

Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Population Dr. Abdulraqeeb al-Haidari discussed strengthening cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and improving health interventions during separate meetings in Aden on Sunday.

In his meeting with UNFPA's protection team, Dr. al-Haidari discussed strengthening coordination between the ministry and the fund and developing the health sector's role within Yemen's protection system, including referral mechanisms and assessments to build a more integrated and sustainable national health response.

He stressed the need to gradually shift partnerships from support for individual projects toward building sustainable national capacities and systems that can ensure continuity of services.

In a separate meeting with Dr. Mohammed al-Hamid, representative of the Yamaan Foundation for Health Development, Dr. al-Haidari reviewed joint reproductive health programs, including the health voucher program, facility improvement plans, and training programs for midwives and emergency obstetric care.

He stressed the importance of aligning these programs with the health sector's priorities and actual facility needs to improve the quality and sustainability of health services.
