The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani emphasized that fighting corruption is a top priority for the government, underling the importance of joining efforts in order to control smuggling in its different forms.
" Controlling smuggling is a shared national responsibility, coordination between the relevant agencies is imperative and efforts need to be joined and doubled ", he stressed.
Dr. Zindani highlighted the significant role of the Customs Authority, describing it as the first line of defense for the national economy, a safeguard for protecting the local market, and one of the key pillars for boosting the state's public revenues. It is not just an agency for collecting fees, he stated.
His comments came during his meeting today, Thursday, with the headship of the Customs Authority in the temporary capital Aden.
