The Presidential Leadership Council, led by H.E President Rashad al-Alimi, has strongly condemned the Southern Transitional Council's (STC) recent escalation in Hadramout and Mahra provinces, describing it as a breach of transitional agreements and undermining of state institutions.
In an emergency meeting of the National Defense Council, President al-Alimi and top officials reviewed reports of STC's unilateral military moves and attacks on civilians, which have raised concerns about regional security and stability.
The council fully supports Saudi-led mediation efforts to calm tensions and has called for the STC to withdraw its forces from Hadramout and Mahra provinces immediately, handing over control to local authorities and national army units.
The Presidential Leadership Council also praised local authorities in both provinces for prioritizing peace and stability, and approved measures to protect civilians and assert state authority across Yemen.
