The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has directed the United Nations agencies, funds and programs to temporarily suspend all operations in Saada Governorate, following the recent Houthi detention of eight additional UN employees.
The UN chief said in a statement that this exceptional and temporary measure aims to achieve a balance between the need to remain and provide assistance and the need to ensure the safety and security of the United Nations staff and its partners.
