The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting Today, Thursday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the presence of its members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and via video conference Tariq Saleh and Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, while Council members Sultan al-Aradah and Faraj al-Bahsani were absent with excuse.
The meeting devoted to discuss a number of topical issues on its agenda, including developments in the national situation, foremost of which are political, economic, and service developments, exchange rate fluctuations, efforts to accelerate the implementation of an economic rescue plan, and alleviating the human suffering that have been further exacerbated by the attacks of the Houthi terrorist militias that are agents of the Iranian regime on oil facilities and international shipping lines.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the PLC Council briefed the members of the Council on the results of his contribution to the discussions of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh and the World Urban Forum in its twelfth edition in Cairo, in addition to the outcomes of his meeting with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The member of the Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi provided a report about his participation in the Climate Conference held in Baku, Azerbaijani.
Othman Mujalli also reported about the outcomes of his visit to the United Kingdom and some members also provided briefings on the level of implementation of the tasks entrusted to them.
The PLC reviewed government reports on local developments and the level of implementation of the Council's decisions and recommendations, especially those related to improving the state's access to its sovereign resources, deterring currency speculators and controlling the prices of services and basic commodities.
In this context, the PLC reiterated its great thanks and appreciation for the position of the brothers in the coalition to support legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in support of the Yemeni people and their continuous support for the government's efforts to deliver on its inevitable obligations, foremost of which is the payment of salaries of employees and the provision of basic goods and services to millions of Yemenis throughout the country.
The PLC praised UK's announcement of a new package of support for the Yemeni Coast Guard as part of coordinated efforts with regional allies and international partners to combat piracy, terrorism, arms smuggling and organized crime, as well as its pledges of greater development support packages for the Yemeni people during the next phase.
The meeting reviewed the assessments on the regional developments related to the brutal Israeli war against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, the Houthi terrorist attacks on international shipping lines and their devastating repercussions on food security, international peace and security, and took the necessary decisions, recommendations and guidelines thereon.
