His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

RIYADH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Major General Faraj al-Bahsani discussed on Thursday with the French Ambassador to Yemen Catherine Corm Kommon latest developments in national and regional arenas.

He discussed with her the role that regional and international communities should play in supporting stability in Yemen.

The two parties also discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries, focusing on humanitarian assistance that alleviates the suffering of the Yemeni people under the current circumstances.

Al-Bahsani reviewed the ongoing Houthi escalation and the terrorist acts targeting the Yemeni people, emphasizing the importance of regional and international support for the Presidential Leadership Council in facing these challenges.

He stressed the need to impose further pressure on Houthi militias to stop their repeated assaults.

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council highlighted the importance of France's role in supporting stability in Yemen, praising the positive positions France has taken regarding crisis in Yemen.

He affirmed that enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in security and humanitarian areas, will strengthen Yemen's ability to confront current challenges and achieve sustainable security and development.

He called on the regional and international communities to take firm stances against Houthi militias and to impose severe sanctions to prevent them from continuing to destabilize the region.

For her part, the French ambassador confirmed her country’s readiness to support the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government, reaffirming France's commitment to assist the Yemeni people in achieving their aspirations for a life of security, stability, and lasting peace.
