Lahj Governor discusses JSI organization's interventions in health sector

Governor of Lahj Major General Ahmed Turki met Sunday with the Regional Deputy Director of the International JSI Organization, Dr. Suad al-Hatari discussing with her ways to enhance the organization's humanitarian intervention programs in the districts of Lahj.

The two parties discussed implementing emergency and sustainable human development projects, focusing on health sector in the governorate.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Public Health and Population Office in Lahj Governorate Dr. Khaled Jaber and the Technical Director of Health Services at the organization Dr. Areej Banaja, Governor Turki praised the humanitarian assistance provided by the organization to the governorate urging them to expand their support for the development process, particularly the rehabilitation and renovation of the student housing and classrooms at the Institute of Health Sciences.

He emphasized the local authority's keenness to remove any obstacles facing the organization's work.

The representative of the international organization visited the building of the Institute of Health Sciences, and discussed with the Director of the Public Health and Population Office the urgent needs of the Institute, which will be studied as part of the organization's upcoming work plans.

Earlier, the Governor of Lahj Governorate, along with the Deputy President of Lahj University for Student Affairs, Dr. Wael Shukri, and the Dean of the College of Saber for Sciences and Education at the University, Dr. Abdel Fattah Al-Shuaibi, inaugurated the new academic year (2024/2025) at the College, which includes 8 scientific specializations.

He praised the good preparation for the new academic year by the College's deanship and the students' regular enrollment in their studies.
