Defense Minister meets with military advisor of the UN's Envoy to Yemen

Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohsen al-Daeri held talks today, Monday, in the interim capital Aden with the military advisor of the UN's envoy Antony Hayord and his accompanying delegation over the UN's efforts to work out a mechanism to establish permanent cease-fire amid Houthi militias' military escalation and attacks on the commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

General al-Daeri stated that the Presidential Leadership Council and the government are seeking permanent peace satisfies the Yemeni people's aspirations that based on the international security council resolutions in relevance.

The Minister of Defense blamed Houthi militias for prolonging the conflict by refusing to come to peace, going on further military escalation in different flashpoints, moreover attacks on the commercial ships and shipping lanes.

The UN envoy's military advisor presented suggestions for a mechanism to establish a permanent cease-fire to prepare for upcoming settlement regardless the current developments in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb that gave rise to slow in the road map which is being discussed.
