LONDON - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Brigadier General Tariq Saleh said the peace understanding that realized over the recent period unfortunately are stalemated as a result of the developments in the Red Sea created by Houthi militia's attacks on the ships.
In his discussions with the Royal Institute for International Affairs " Chatham House", today, Thursday, he made it clear that the ongoing events in the Red Sea nowadays is an outcome of the international community rejection to drive Houthi militiamen out of Hodeidah, didn't allow the internationally recognized government's troops to retake the governorate.
He squarely put blame on the international community for designing Stockholm Agreement that Yemen and the world today pay its high price." It is the accord that has enabled the Houthi militiamen to turn Bab el-Mandeb Strait to battlefield and made Hodeidah launching-pad to fire missiles and drones on the shipping lanes and commercial ships, to serve the Iranian agendas in the region", Tariq said.
Asked about the "Prosperity Guard" whether the Yemeni government join it, Brig. Tariq confirmed that Yemen is not a party to this coalition.. saying" We're in our regional waters and on our islands, we do secure our regional waters and territories, we're capable to protect them".
He explained it clearly that what happens now in the Red Sea is an Iranian scheme has nothing to do with the Israeli aggression on Gaza." The quantity and quality of missiles are being used in the attacks on the commercial ships have proved that this scenario had long been prepared by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, it is apparently that this scheme was early premeditated in advance".
Brig. Saleh noted that the Yemeni peoples are naturally committed to support the Palestinian cause that is being used by Houthi militiamen and Iran's tools in the region as a ploy to serve and carry out Iran's agendas. "Iran deliberately wants to snatch the Palestinian cause from Arabs".
Brig. Tariq stated that Iran has basically established the Houthi entity not only to destruct Yemen, but also take control over Bab el-Mandeb Strait, noting that Houthis' operations rooms are run by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
Regarding the situation in the Red Sea he indicated that the crisis won't end once the war in Gaza ended, " Simply because Houthis' current attacks in the Red Sea were independently planned in advance by Iran", Tariq stressed.
He also touched upon the cargo ship Rubymar's looming environmental risks that is about to sink and pollute the marine ecosystem.
He said" The best solution to the ongoing problem in the Red Sea is to support the internationally recognized government to enforce its control over all Yemeni territories, particularly, after the international community has come to realize the lethal danger of the Houthi militia, after its interests directly affected".
