The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Al-Bahssani discusses peace efforts with an official in the UN Envoy's Office

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. General Faraj al-Bahssani met today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden with the Head of Political Affairs Section in the Office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen Roxanna Bazrjan.

They conferred over the latest political developments and the peace efforts.

Al-Bahssani provided a brief presentation about the political developments in the Yemeni national arena, underway efforts to unify the ranks and bring political constituencies together to reach political solutions to end the crisis in the country and the Yemeni peoples' suffering.

For her part Roxanna presented an overview about the UN's ongoing efforts to establish comprehensive and sustainable peace, citing the efforts of the UN's envoy to maintain the cease-fire and unleash an inclusive political process to achieve fair and durable peace.
