ADEN – SABA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the presidential statement issued by the United Nations Security Council on October 15, 2026, regarding the Houthi military escalation in Yemen and attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The statement condemned the ongoing and escalating attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorist militias, including attacks targeting civilians, civil infrastructure, airports and energy facilities, as well as continued threats to international shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

In a statement issued Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of the unified position of Security Council members and the need for the full implementation of Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015) and other relevant resolutions.

It also called for strengthening international cooperation to prevent the Houthi terrorist militias from obtaining weapons and other forms of support, in a manner that would help halt their attacks and threats to security and stability in Yemen and the region.

The ministry commended Security Council members for their solidarity with Yemen and Saudi Arabia in confronting Houthi attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities. It also reaffirmed the inherent right of states, under international law, to take the necessary measures to defend their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and to protect their citizens and residents.
