Minister of Finance Salem bin Breik conducted discussions here in Washington today, Thursday, with Deputy Director of Financial Affairs of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Katherine Bayer and a number of the IMF's experts and advisors.
Conversations focused on the technical assistance which set to be provided by the IMF to the Finance Ministry.
The talks covered topics relating to the Yemeni government's and Finance Ministry's ongoing financial, monetary, economic and managerial reforms.
The Minister provided a detailed presentation about the wide-scale impacts of the economic deterioration upon all walks of life, citing the government's reforms and efforts to manage the economic hardships and mitigate the humanitarian crisis.
Bin Breik applauded the IMF's technical support for the Yemeni government and Finance Ministry to help improve economic, finance conditions, build capacity of the Ministry's cadres.
