Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik has been acquainted with the initial report on the terrorist attack, which targeted a checkpoint in Ahwar District, Abyan Province and killed 21 soldiers from the Security Belt and inured seven others.
Eight terrorists were also killed in the attack.
In a telephone call with Governor of Abyan General Abu Bakr Hussein, prime minister was briefed on current efforts to crack down on terrorist elements and the painful strikes they sustained during the past days.
He also got acquainted with security plans made in coordination with the local authority to tighten security in the province and drying up terror sources and cracking down on stray elements, stressing significance of the popular role in supporting efforts of realizing security and stability.
He directed high security alert and continuation of cracking down on terrorist elements, calling upon people to cooperate with security forces and report on movements of these elements.
He condoled the families of the killed soldiers in this criminal coward attack and hoped quick recovery to the injured.
