FM, Egyptian Ambassador discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations
[30/08/2022 03:09]

Riyadh - Saba
Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, discussed with the Ambassador of Egypt, Ahmed Farouk Mohamed Tawfiq, the distinguished and historical relations that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples, and ways to strengthen and develop them.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the results of the visit of His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohamed El Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and his meeting with his brother, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

In this regard, he referred to the importance of completing the necessary preparations for the convening of the Joint Higher Committee, in addition to the meeting of the Strategic Dialogue Committee, which is one of the most important mechanisms through which consultation and coordination of positions takes place between the two countries’ foreign ministries.

He appreciated the support of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the legitimate government in all International forums, and their aid, medical grants and rehabilitation courses for a number of government sectors.

Bin Mubarak touched on the ongoing preparations for holding the summit of the Arab and African countries bordering the Red Sea, the steps to ensure the security and stability of international navigation, and the imminent threat posed by the Safer oil tanker, not only to Yemen but to the region in general, as well as developments in our country in light of the UN armistice.

And the Houthi violations, the most recent of which was the treacherous attack on the Al-Dabab area in the city of Taiz, in stark contrast with the ongoing talks in Jordan for the Road Opening Committee, and the despicable continuation of the policy of manipulation, indifference and violation of agreements, which the Houthi militia has been pursuing since its fateful coup against the government.
