Yemen's Information Minister said the Houthi militia's sentencing of political oppositionists to death imitates Iran's conduct :"after the Khomeini revolution" of 1979.
Muammar al-Eryani was condemning the theocratic militia's sentencing of nine civilians, including two women and a male international law professor in Sana'a, to death over trumped-up charges of "collaborating with a foreign enemy country."
"It copies the Iranian regime's conduct after the Khomeini revolution in eliminating political oppositionists, and terrorizing and coercing the society into submission."
Al-Eryani called on the UN and US envoys and human rights organizations to condemn the Houthi terrorism and use of the seized courts in Sana'a to terrorize the Yemeni society.
