World Bank Approves $20 Million Grants for COVID-19 Vaccination in Yemen

The World Bank approved today a US$20 million grant for launching a vaccination campaign against coronavirus with safe and effective vaccines in Yemen.
The country's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Badheeib told Saba that this grant consists of $9 million from the International Development Association, $7.76 million from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, and $3.25 million from the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund.
This is the first additional World Bank financing to the Yemen’s COVID-19 Response Project (YCRP), and it will support part of the deployment costs to provide vaccines to no less than 1.3 million people.
