FM calls on the IC to press for peace in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak called on the International Community (IC) to press for peace by mounting pressure on the Houthi militia and the Iranian regime in order to reach a political settlement to put an end of the Yemeni peoples' suffering.

His statement came during a phone conversation he today with the Russian Federation Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Vladimir Dedoshkin.

The telephone conversation dealt with the ongoing efforts aiming to stop the war and establish peace in Yemen.

Bin Mubarak blamed Houthi militia for prolonging the war as it has continued to refuse to sit down to discuss political settlement. He cited the militia's ongoing military operations on Marib as an evidence that the militia is act as an Iranian agent to carry out the Iranian spoiler role in destabilizing the security in Yemen and the region.

The Russian Ambassador affirmed his country's support for Yemen and the efforts to reach peaceful solution to the conflict
to make peace and maintain Yemen's unity, security and stability.
