On the World Press Freedom Day 3 May he was quoted by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) as saying" We remind all journalists and human rights activists around the world that they need to remember that there are dozens of Yemeni journalists were kidnapped from their own houses, arbitrary arrested and imprisoned in illegal detention centers, brutally tortured and sentenced to death".
