Human rights minister discusses with ICRC situations in Marib

Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights Ahmad Arman discussed Thursday with the Head of the International Committee for the Red Cross Mission in Yemen Abdurrahman Ismael humanitarian situations in Marib and the role of the committee in providing help and taking corpses from areas of conflicts.
The meeting touched upon significance of activating humanitarian law issues by governmental committee and qualifying Yemeni civil and military personnel in this field.
Arman praised the great role of the ICRC in Yemen and providing humanitarian aid and implementing a number of projects for alleviating suffering of the Yemeni people.
He pointed out that the ministry has information that the released prisoners testified that women in Houthi prisons have been subjected to torture and rape, calling the officials of the organization to visit these prisoners to examine their situations.
For his part, the ICRC official confirmed that the committee seeks to improve cooperation with the government of Yemen regarding the issues of prisoners and capacity building under these conditions.
