Arab League welcomes Arab Coalition's cease-fire, demands Houthis to act likewise

The Arab League has welcomed the Arab Coalition's declaration of a two-week ceasefire in Yemen and demanded the Yemeni militant group of Houthis to act likewise.
The AL secretary general Ahmed Abu ElGheit said the Yemeni people is exhausted by years of war and is waiting "for a serious Houthi engagement in a peace process."
The Coalition announced the ceasefire on the hope the Houthis will cease fire too and refocus efforts with the government to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus in Yemen, the only Middle Eastern countries yet to have a confirmed case.
The AL parliament and the Gulf Cooperation Council also welcomed the Arab Coalition's move and demanded the Houthi militia to honor the ceasefire which starts from Thursday.
