Deputy Governor of Taiz for Health Affairs Dr. IlanAbdulhaq held Wednesday emergency meeting with directors of hospitals and health centers for discussing outbreak of Dengue and virus fever and measures for combating them.
The meeting reviewed confirmed and suspected cases, which reached- since the beginning of 2019- to 5015 cases, included five death cases.
Abdulhaq directed reporting on emergent needs for providing them.
The meeting confirmed making field surveys for spots where mosquitoes exist and conducting mosquito fogging, stressing coordination between hospitals and health centers for reducing the epidemic and supporting blood bank to do its tasks as demanded.
For his part, Director of the Public Health National Center Laboratory in Taiz Ahmad Mansour pointed out that dengue test solutions have been distributed to a number of hospitals and centers.
