The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba stated that the Yemeni state undertakes its constitutional and sovereign responsibility to protect its citizens, lands, coasts, ports and territorial waters, and that enabling its institutions to carry out this responsibility is a key element for the security of Bab al-Mandeb, the Red Sea and international navigation and trade.

Yemen's Foreign Minister said on Wednesday the deal Saudi Arabia brokered between his government and STC rebels in Aden is crucial for unifying ranks in Yemen against the Houthis who are advancing Iran's expansionist agenda in the country.

In a meeting with the deputy chief of the US diplomatic mission to Yemen Junaid Munir here on Wednesday, Mohammed al-Hadhrami appreciated the Saudi efforts in backing the Yemeni government to restore the Yemeni state to power.

He also praised President Hadi's reconciliatory attitude that aims to resolve frictions with the rebels in Aden and stand united for ending the Houthi coup and returning the state institutions into operation.

Munir expressed the US interest in supporting the Yemeni government to upgrade its capacity of performing its duties.
