The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has submitted an application for a government approval to open an office in the temporary capital Aden.
The government had previously sent official letters asking international organizations to move their offices from the Houthi-held Sana'a to Aden to avoid persecution and illegal influences of the militia.
The OHCHR's application was submitted by the deputy resident representative of the OHCHR in Yemen Abeer al-Khareesha to Deputy Minister of Human Rights Sameer Shaybani.
Shaybani expressed the government's displeasure with the OHCHR's turning of blind eye to and failure to condemn the Houthi continuous atrocities in different parts of the country.
