Yemeni-European talks in Aden about reconstruction plan

Deputy Prime Minister Dr Salim al-Khanbashi held talks on Wednesday in the temporary capital Aden with head of the EU Mission to Yemen Antonia Calvo-Puerta and her accompanying delegation.
The session devoted to discuss a range to of topics relating to the reconstruction plan. The plan designed by Ministry of Planning and International Planning.
The discussions focused on urgent priorities of the reconstruction and economic recovery plan.
Dr al-Khanbashi detailed the EU delegation on the government's efforts to achieve early economic recovery, realizing progress in improving the exchange rate of national currency.
He deeply appreciated the EU substantial support for Yemen over the past period as the EU's assistance amounted up to 544 million euro.
The Deputy Premier stated that the overall reconstruction costs estimated at $100 billion.
Ministers of Public Health and Population, Education and Under-Secretary of Ministry of Planning cited the needed support in the areas of health and education.
For her part, Calvo-Puerta stated that the EU delegation current visit to Aden aimed to coordinate between the EU and Yemeni legitimate government. She noted that the EU has a supportive plan for 2019-2020 in line with the EU humanitarian program designed for five years ahead.
