Yemen voices reservation about outcomes of meeting organized by German Foreign Ministry in Berlin

Government of Republic of Yemen announced reservation about upshots of a meeting organized by German Foreign Ministry in its headquarters in Berlin on Wednesday under the so-called " High Level Strategic Dialogue about Peace Process and Prospects of Stability in Yemen".

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement " This gathering was held without coordination or consultation in advance with the internationally recognized Yemeni government as a legitimate representative of the Republic of Yemen in accordance with the UN Chatter".

The Foreign Ministry said : " Endeavors aimed to launch and announce programs and plans of the United Nations (UN) outside the UN's institutions and headquarters pertaining to mechanisms of the so-called stability and fund-raising from donor countries for establishing mechanisms aren't agreed on with the Yemeni government constitutes regretted breaching can't be tolerated, mainly at a time International Community (IC), specifically the UN ought to sustain and support the Yemeni government's efforts, collaborate with it to boost its competency to function effectively for the interest of all Yemeni people".

The Government of Republic of Yemen followed with reservation the outcomes of the meeting organized by Ministry of friendly Federal Republic of Germany on January 16, 2019 in its HQ in Berlin under the so-called " " High Level Strategic Dialogue about Peace Process and Prospects of Stability in Yemen", given that it is an official action by the friendly German government done in coordination with the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs Mrs Lise Grande and a number of sisterly and friendly countries were invited to take part in without coordination and consultation in advance with the internationally recognized Yemeni government as a representative of the Republic of Yemen under the UN Chatter.

The Yemeni Government reiterates that any stepping over the UN's mechanisms, particularly from a friendly country, member of the UN is a matter needs to be reconsidered.

The Yemeni Government stressed the importance of respecting the national leadership and ownership of the countries in conformity with the UN's principles and all agreements and regulating frameworks signed on with the Yemeni government about the existence and operation of different International organizations in Yemen.
