The local authority of Marib discussed on Thursday arrangements to clamp down on the smuggling of hard currency, days after security authorities seized a shipment of millions of US dollars and Saudi Riyals in its way from the government-held provincein Yemen's east to the Houthi coupist militia in the capital Sana'a.
The Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-RabbuMiftah chaired a meeting that brought together the Appeal Prosecution and representatives from the local central bank and security police offices.
The meeting discussed the mechanism of fighting the illegal transfer of money from or through Marib as per the regulatory systems of the central bank.
