The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Aden's local council secretary general inspects maintenance work at al-Hoswa power plant

The Secretary General of Aden Local Council BadrMuawen, along with Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy Mohammad Ashal, inspected on Tuesday the ongoing work of the first phase of maintenance project of al-Hoswa Power Plant carried out by Ukrainian Bedservice Company with the cost of USD 31 million.
Muawen and Ashal were briefed by the Deputy Director of the Plant NofalMujmal on the accomplishment level of the maintenance work of the two heaters and the two turbines to be finished by the end of this year.
The Secretary General of the Local Council praised efforts being exerted for implementing the project, which includes more than 200 Yemeni and Ukrainian technicians.
He urged all to shoulder their responsibilities for alleviating suffering of the citizens, confirming that the government has expensed hundreds of millions of USD and provided full support to power-generating plants.
