Al-Sallal reviewed recent developments in Yemen, mainly Aden's recent incidents and the failed coup attempt against the government.
He informed the Canadian official on the Humanitarian Response Plan in Yemen 2018, which has been made by Saudi Arabia and approved by the government of Yemen.
Thanking Canada for it generous support in humanitarian field in Yemen via the UN and its organizations, al-Sallal said the total value of aid provided to Yemen since March 2017 until early 2018 has reached USD 65 million.
He hoped for more support to Yemen, especially under these current hard conditions Yemen is experiencing and for Canadian support to the plan.
For his part, Stanton confirmed his country's support to Yemeni people and their unity, security and stability and to their government under President Hadi.
He reaffirmed that his country is cooperating with the international community for having a solution to Yemen's crisis in accordance with the UN resolutions.
