Yemen, GPE discuss education projects in Yemen

Washington (Saba)- Yemen Ambassador to the United States Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak on Saturday met here with Executive Director of the Global Partnership for Education Alice Albright, discussing the organizations' programs in Yemen and how to develop them.

Bin Mubarak emphasized that the government pays attention to education and protection of child rights in all governorates, pointing out that the government faces big challenges and that the international partnership should increase their support to Yemen's education.

Albright said that GPE is keen to continue its support to education projects in Yemen, signaling out that the organization will work with the Yemeni government and donors to improve education environment.

It is worth mentioning that GPE is among the most notable international organizations which support education in developing countries. It allocated more than $70 million for supporting Yemen education in next education year. It has supported Yemen education with about $122 million since 2005.
