Yemeni Rights Network Documents 43 Houthi Violations in Taiz in 24 Hours
[13/10/2026 01:51]
TAIZ-SABA

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms documented 43 crimes and violations committed by Iran-backed Houthi militias in Taiz over the past 24 hours, leaving five civilians dead and 17 injured, damaging seven homes and 12 private vehicles, and partially damaging Al-Safwa Hospital and Al-Saeed Mosque in Taiz city.

The network said in a report today that the fatalities included five-year-old Ahlam Abdulsalam, who was killed inside her family’s home in Haisban, Al-Misrakh district, during shelling of residential villages in the countryside.

The 17 injured included women, children and elderly people. The militias fired more than 180 mortar shells, artillery rounds, howitzer shells, Katyusha rockets and tank shells at residential neighborhoods across the governorate, in addition to drone attacks.

The shelling damaged homes, vehicles and civilian facilities, including Al-Safwa Hospital and Al-Saeed Mosque, threatening civilian safety and access to healthcare.

The network warned that continued shelling, siege and restrictions on supplies were worsening the humanitarian situation. Reports indicated shortages of essential goods and sharp increases in food, water, fuel and medicine prices, further burdening families, particularly children, patients and the elderly.

It called on the international community and the United Nations to take urgent action to halt attacks on civilian objects and protect civilians, medical facilities and places of worship. It also urged the lifting of restrictions on civilian movement, ensuring safe and regular access to food, water, fuel, medicine and humanitarian aid, and ending child recruitment while securing the release, care and rehabilitation of recruited children.
