Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Member Abdulrahman al-Muharrami met on Wednesday with a senior Spanish diplomatic delegation headed by Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Diego Martinez to discuss bilateral relations and developments in Yemen.
The talks addressed ways to enhance cooperation between Yemen and the Kingdom of Spain, as well as political, economic, and humanitarian developments and international efforts to support peace and stability in the country.
The meeting also underscored the importance of maintaining security in the Red Sea and international shipping lanes, and highlighted the significance of the Saudi-sponsored Southern-Southern dialogue in promoting national consensus and stability.
Al-Muharrami praised Spain’s support for Yemen and commended the role of the European Union in backing the government and recovery efforts.
Spanish officials reaffirmed their support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and initiatives aimed at advancing peace, development, and reform in Yemen.
