The Republic of Yemen expressed Monday its great pride in the exceptional and deeply rooted relations with the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the Council’s establishment.
Yemen praised the GCC’s historic role in safeguarding regional security, strengthening Gulf integration and supporting Yemen and its people throughout various stages and circumstances.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates extended the sincere congratulations and best wishes of the Republic of Yemen to the brotherly GCC states and its General Secretariat on this occasion, affirming Yemen’s pride in its relations and partnerships with the countries and peoples of the Council.
The ministry also commended the GCC’s notable achievements in advancing joint Gulf and Arab cooperation, consolidating security, stability, and development in the region and emphasized the deep fraternal and historical ties binding the Republic of Yemen with the Gulf states.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further praised the sincere brotherly positions of the GCC countries in support of Yemen, its constitutional legitimacy, territorial unity, security, and stability, as well as the political, economic, and humanitarian assistance they have provided, which has contributed to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and strengthening their resilience in facing challenges.
The ministry also reaffirmed the Yemeni government’s aspiration to further enhance partnership and institutional integration with the GCC countries toward broader horizons, based on historical and geographical ties, as well as shared interests and common destiny.
