The National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights held talks Tuesday in Yemen’s interim capital with a delegation from Geneva Call to explore ways to strengthen joint cooperation in human rights protection.
Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Judge Hussein Al-Mushdali, underscored the importance of enhancing coordination to support efforts to safeguard human rights.
He noted that the Commission is currently preparing a special report on the conditions in prisons and detention facilities, in light of challenges and violations documented in recent months that require further monitoring and documentation.
Al-Mushdali also addressed the issue of enforced disappearances, citing cases documented by the Commission.
He said the body is following up on the file in coordination with relevant authorities and called on Geneva Call to contribute technical expertise, particularly in the examination of remains of victims of enforced disappearance.
