President al-Alimi Receives Mauritania’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Thursday, along with Council member Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanian's Abroad of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Dr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.

The minister, acting as a special envoy of the Mauritanian President, delivered a written letter to the President from his brother President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, concerning bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the Mauritanian Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of President Ghazouani to President al-Alimi, along with his wishes for good health and happiness, and for the Yemeni people, security, stability, and peace.

In turn, President al-Alimi asked the Mauritanian minister to convey his greetings and those of the Council members to President Ghazouani, wishing him good health and prosperity, and continued progress and prosperity for the Mauritanian people.

The meeting discussed the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries and prospects for strengthening and developing them across various fields, as well as mechanisms for coordination and consultation in regional and international forums regarding shared challenges.
