President al-Alimi discusses with Saudi Minister of Defense National Developments, Prospects for Promising Partnership

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Council members Tareq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Muhrrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Othman Mujalli met Wednesday with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting, attended bt Prime Minister Salem bin Breik, discussed the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as the latest developments on the national scene, joint efforts to normalize conditions, strengthen the presence of state institutions in the temporary capital Aden and other liberated governorates and ways to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.

President al-Alimi renewed, on his own behalf and that of his fellow Council members and the government, his high appreciation for the pivotal role of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in de-escalation, protecting civilians, its fraternal response to the request to host and sponsor the Southern Dialogue Conference, and its generous humanitarian and developmental interventions across various fields.

He also praised the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance security and stability in Yemen, and its steadfast positions alongside the Yemeni people and their political leadership through various stages and circumstances.

The President expressed confidence that the distinguished fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries will enter a new phase of promising partnership at all levels.

For his part, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman reaffirmed during the meeting the Kingdom’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, announcing directives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to provide economic support and a package of development projects and programs for the Yemeni people amounting to SAR 1.9 billion, through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

Prince Khalid affirmed that this support reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance security and stability and to contribute to building a better future for Yemen and its brotherly people.
