Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik witnessed on Thursday the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) and the Gulf International Electric Power Company to implement several development projects in the field of electric power in Yemen.

Prime Minister Affirms Commitment to Expanding Cooperation with France

RIYADH – SABA
Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding the horizons of cooperation with the friendly Republic of France in the fields of development, energy, capacity building and support for economic and institutional stability programs.

During his meeting on Thursday with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, the Prime Minister praised the distinguished relations between Yemen and France, French support for the government’s efforts to implement economic and service reforms, maintain international maritime security in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and support the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore the state and end the Iran-backed Houthi coup.

He pointed out that the government is steadily moving forward with comprehensive reforms and improving public services despite the complex challenges imposed by the war and its repercussions.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries, prospects for future partnership and ways to coordinate efforts with international partners to support the government’s plans and programs in development, economic recovery, institutional building, and implementation of comprehensive reforms, in addition to the latest developments on the national, regional and international scenes.

The French ambassador reaffirmed her country’s support for the government’s reform efforts, improvement of the economic and humanitarian situation.

She confirmed keenness to continue cooperation with Yemen in various fields, particularly in development, institutional and capacity-building areas.

She also stressed the importance of continued coordination with international partners to support Yemen in its recovery and stabilization efforts.
