RIYADH – SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Major General Sultan al-Aradah met Tuesday with advisors in the office of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, including Military advisor Anthony Hayward, political advisor Roxana Bazarghan and Security Advisor Snezhana Kaufman.
During the meeting, the latest developments in the national situation and the UN efforts to support the peace process were discussed.
Major General al-Aradah emphasized the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to support the UN's efforts on various fronts, aiming to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
He pointed out the political leadership’s adherence to the three essential references: the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and the relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216, as stable foundations for ensuring just and sustainable peace.
Al-Aradah stressed the importance of addressing humanitarian and economic aspects alongside political, military, and security issues, noting that the Yemeni people are looking for practical measures that directly impact their daily lives and alleviate their escalating suffering due to the wars waged by the Houthi terrorist militias and their ongoing violations against citizens.
For their part, the military, political, and security advisors to the UN envoy to Yemen expressed their appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.
They confirmed that their visits aim to listen to official perspectives regarding political, military, and security pathways to enhance the efforts of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy in bridging viewpoints and contributing to stability in Yemen.
