The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani was in attendance.

Presidential Council Chairman Holds Bilateral Talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, held bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two friendly nations and coordinating positions on various issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, President Putin welcomed Dr. Al-Alimi and his delegation, reaffirming Russia's commitment to supporting Yemen and its people in their pursuit of security, stability, and peace.

This commitment reflects the deep historical ties between the two countries, built on a foundation of friendship and mutual respect.

President Putin expressed his confidence in the development of these relations, which would serve the interests of both nations and their peoples, as well as contribute to regional security and stability.

Dr. al-Alimi briefed President Putin on the current situation in Yemen and the expectations surrounding his visit to Moscow, which coincides with the 97th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between Yemen and Russia, which has been built on mutual interests and Russian support for Yemen's state-building efforts.

He expressed gratitude for Russia's consistent support for the Yemeni people and its legitimate government.
Dr. al-Alimi also emphasized the importance of maintaining international unity on the Yemeni file and efforts to combat terror and piracy.

He appreciated Russia's stance on Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
