CAIRO - SABA
Egypt has condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli incursion into Syrian territory and the shelling of the town of Koya, which constitutes a continuation of Israel's approach to strengthening its positions and expanding its control over the territories it occupied deep inside Syria.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Egypt's complete rejection of Israel's exploitation of internal developments in Syria to seize more Syrian territory and undermine security and stability in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Ministry considered the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory a systematic violation of international law, warning of the grave dangers expected from Israel's irresponsible, aggressive policies.
Egypt called on the Security Council and influential international powers to assume their responsibility in confronting this dangerous escalation in Syria, stressing the need to respect Syria's unity, stability, and sovereignty over all its territory.
